Henry--what a powerful and carefully nuanced review of these depictions of a consummate existential question: How shall I live . . . a truly human life?

Recently, I was struck by the insight of a brilliant and gifted African-American nun, Sister Thea Bowman. After dealing with the news of breast cancer, Sister Thea adopted a motto: "I will live until I die."

She was spirited, loving, compassionate, accomplished. Living for her was not settling for mediocrity.

May we, like Sister Thea, truly live until we die!
